Frank J. Maher (1915-1995) was an engineer specializing in aerodynamic research and taught Engineering Science and Mechanics at Virginia Tech from 1937 to 1978. The collection consists of consulting files for wind tunnel research on a number of projects and extensive correspondence with David B. Steinman, engineer and bridge designer. Other papers include publications, reports, photographs, and blueprints.

The J. Paxton Marshall Papers collection contains papers, reports and publications on land use issues in Virginia and surrounding states, as well as a small amount of biographical material.
