Hutcheson, T. B. (Thomas Barksdale), 1882-1950
Biographical Note
Thomas Barksdale Hutcheson (1882-1950) was born to Mary Claiborne Barksdale and Robert Francis Hutcheson. He graduated from Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute (V.P.I.) in 1906 and married Rosalie Stockard. He was professor of Agronomy (1914-1945) and dean of Agriculture at V.P.I.. Hutcheson Hall at Virginia Tech was named for him and his brother, John R. Hutcheson, ninth university president (1945-1947).
