Biographical Note

Rositsa Peeva-Popova (sister of Maria Peeva) graduated from Sofia Polytechnic in 1981, and was then assigned by the government to work for the Design Organization in the town of Gabrovo. She later worked for towns of Ruse and Schumen before establishing a private practice with her architect husband. That practice opened in Schumen but moved to Varna, where Popova teaches (2007) architecture at the Varna Free University. Popova's work centers on urban design, with many apartment buildings as well as gas stations, commercial facilities, and urban space designs.

Abstract

The IAWA Small Collections was compiled from a variety of sources by Special Collections staff for use in reference and research. The collection consists primarily of biographical materials for women architects, architectural historians, and designers including curriculum vitas, firm brochures, exhibit notices, photographs, and publications. Drawings, sketches, course notes, correspondence, and other materials pertaining to architectural collections are also present.
