Biographical Note
Robert Chirver or Chirves, previously registered under the name Robert Benner, aged 23, was a free man of color. At the time of his registration on May 4, 1841, Robert was 23 years old, five feet eight inches tall, and "of a mulatto complexion" with "a scar on the left side of his neck - and was born free."
