Biographical Note

Harold N. Young was a agricultural economist. He was born in New York and educated at Cornell University (1913-1917). He was a sergeant in Intelligence Section, 38th Infantry, in World War I. He was principal of Union School in Constableville, New York (1919-1930). Then he became a professor of Agricultural Economics at Virginia Polytechnic Institute (1930-1965) and Director of the Virginia Agricultural Experiment Station (VAES). He was later Director Emeritus of VAES (1965-1978).
