Granville Skidmore Kennedy Letters, 1963 - 1972
Scope and Content
The Granville Skidmore Kennedy Family Papers contain several letters, documents, cards, and photographs mostly addressed to Granville Skidmore Kennedy and his wife Wilma Hoyt Kennedy of Roanoke and later Richmond, Virginia. Some letters are also addressed to their daughter Elizabeth (Betty) Lois Kennedy. This correspondence dated 1935-1972 mostly contains general information about health, work, and life from various people. Most of the letters from 1960-1961 discuss the sudden death of Elizabeth in a car accident. Several financial documents pertain to Elizabeth's belongings and her hospital bill. This collection also contains the correspondence of Edwin M. Kennedy, Granville's brother. Additional documents and letters discuss about the residence and care of Linda Lanier Kennedy, Granville's sister, a 1953 list of alumni from the University of Tennessee's College of Agriculture, and an undated letter to "Frank."
