Abstract

This bronze medal has a handle at the top, probably for attaching to a ribbon. The front is embossed with a laurel wreath at the bottom. In the center are the letters VPI intertwined and painted orange and maroon.

VPI Prom Bangle Bracelet

Abstract

The bracelet is a sterling silver, cuff-style bangle with hammered texture (planishing?). A black metal piece is attached in the center. It has an eagle above a ribbon that says "Virginia Polytechnic Institute". Under the ribbon are two flags and a shield that says "Junior Senior Prom 1933-1934".

VPI Shot Glass

Abstract

This collection includes a large VPI shot glass with the university seal in maroon and orange on the front. On the back side of the shot glass are four lines in orange with Virginia sports team names. The following names are listed: Hokies, Mountianeers, VMI Keydets, and Cavaliers.

Abstract The VT Men's Basketball collection consists of Delwyn Dillard's basketball uniform and a NIT t-shirt. The basketball uniform consists of two parts, a jersey and shorts. The jeresy is orange with white and maroon trim around the collar and sleeves. The front of the jersey has text that is white with a maroon border that reads "VIRGINIA 5 TECH." Guidon for the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets Squadron A. The top is orange with "VTCC" in maroon, and the bottom is maroon with "A in gold or light orange. The guidon is in poor condition, with tears along the corners.

Records of War Memorial Chapel

Abstract

The Records of War Memorial Chapel contain architectural records, posters, photographs, and prints pertaining to Virginia Tech’s War Memorial Chapel - including the Memorial Court, pylons, and cenotaph - and its construction in the 1950s and early 1960s. There are also a few pamphlets detailing the dedication and commemoration of the chapel, as well as records from the chapel after it was opened.

William G. Wharton VPI Cadet Uniform

Abstract The William G. Wharton VPI Cadet Uniform consists of three parts: a blouse, two pairs of trousers, and a overcoat with attached cape. The blouse is navy blue with black lining and is made of a wool blend with a satin lining. There is a black outline down the center, around the collar, along the bottom, and around the sleeve at the bottom. The sleeves also have a single thin stripe above the black strip on each sleeve. William H. Byrne VPI Cadet Cape

Abstract The Cadet cape is navy blue with a red lining, made of wool and possibly wool felt. It is a long standard cape for the time, with a black cord closure that is missing a frog on the right side. There is a label on the inside that reads "Mr. Byrne Capt. (?), measure 49-38-15, date 10-23-14 (William Hale Byrne, class of 1915, East Falls Church, Fairfax)."
