Biographical Note

Robert G. Moore was the son of Mary E. Moore. He was born on August 15, 1897, in Washington, D.C., where his father worked for the U.S. Treasury Department. He moved to Roanoke, Virginia, with his mother following the death of his father, and there attended high school. Moore attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute, graduating with honors in Civil Engineering and becoming a 2nd Lieutenant in the Corps of Cadets. On June 18, 1925, Moore drowned near Washington, D.C., at the age of 27.
