Biographical Note
Robert G. Moore was the son of Mary E. Moore. He was born about 1898 in Washington, D.C where his father worked for the U.S. Treasury Department. He moved to Roanoke with his mother following the death of his father, and there attended high school. Moore attended VPI where he graduated with honors in Civil Engineering and became a 2nd Lieutenant. In 1925, Moore drowned near Washington, D.C. at the age of 27.

The collection contains a student handbook, newspaper articles, and a photo album of scenes on the Virginia Polytechnic Institute (VPI) campus from 1918-1919, many of which are clearly identified. The collection was compiled by Robert G. Moore, a VPI graduate of 1922.
