The collection consists of seven letters written by Edward F. Tubbs, Company I, 14th Regiment, Pennsylvania Cavalry (159th Volunteers) to his mother and siblings at home in Albion, Erie County, Pennsylvania. The first letter, dated July 15, 1858, written from Conneaut, Ohio includes plans to visit home and news from his neighborhood. On the 24th of February, 1863, Tubbs wrote his mother from Harper's Ferry, Virginia describing a gift he intends to send her, new clothes and...
