The collection consists of a letter from Major A.M. Allen to Major J.B. French, written from Columbus, Georgia December 16th, 1863. Allen complains that his shipments of corn to Richmond are being slowed by want of transportation. Allen arranged to have eight railroad cars utilized for shipping the corn which would make things go quickly.
