Scope and Content From the Collection: This collection contains two letters written by James Carr and Thomas Clark, both privates in Company G, 56th New York Infantry during the American Civil War. The letters are addressed to Robert/Bob. Carr's letter, written from Chickahonany [sic] provides a description of his company's part in the recent Battle of Fair Oaks.
