C. Hunter Carpenter Collection
This collection contains a packet of material assembled to nominate C. Hunter Carpenter, a Virginia Tech graduate, for the National Football Hall of Fame (today known as the College Football Hall of Fame). It includes photostatic copies of biographical information, photographs and letters from teammates and opposing players, including Charles D. Daly, J. Ambler Johnston, John R. Hutcheson, and George C. Marshall.
J. S. Counselman Letter
Letter from John Sanders Counselman, assistant professor of mathematics and civil engineering and assistant football coach at the Georgia School of Technology (today Georgia Tech) to Virginia Tech Professor Louis O'Shaughnessy, relating to a mathematical problem and to Counselman's experiences in, and views of, the game of football.
John Guthrie Scrapbook,
The collection consists of a scrapbook compiled by 1926 graduate, John Dennett Guthrie, containing photos and memorabilia of the cadet's years at Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute.
William R. Hite, Jr., Scrapbook
This collection contains the scrapbook of William R. "Billy" Hite, Jr., when he was a senior at Varina High School in Richmond, Virginia. Hite played football at Varina and Virginia Tech, from which he earned a bachelor's and PhD in education in 1985 and 1998, respectively. He later became a principal and superintedent throughout the Mid-Atlantic United States.
Susan Manero Ephemera Collection
This collection contains a copy of the Virginia Tech women's rugby schedule for the spring semester of 1981, an undated flyer advertising an interest meeting for women's rugby, two photographs taken during a women's rugby game, and a card meant to be handed out to raise awareness about the LGBTQ+ community.
Robert Edward Minshall Papers
The Robert Edward Minshall Papers, 1909-1943, contains photographs, postcards, and programs from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Minshall graduated from VPI in 1913 and taught civil engineering at Penn State.
Richard W. Neale Collection
The Richard W. Neale Collection contains two souvenir programs from the 1932 Virginia Polytechnic Institute (now Virginia Tech) football season, with opponents University of Georgia and University of Maryland.
