Drum Major's Mace
This Drum Major's Mace was previously owned by Ralph Edward Hughes and was possibly given to him by Sherman Edmond Seelinger. The mace is approxamately three feet long and is wrapped in orange and maroon ribbon, with excess ribbon hanging off of one end. On the opposite end of the mace is a rounded wooden top that has been painted gold.

The collection includes correspondence between John R. Hutcheson and T. B. Hutcheson, Jr., as well as other correspondence of Thomas B. Hutcheson, Jr.; maps, correspondence, and Deed of Trust with David Barksdale regarding the sale of the farm.

This collection documents the work of the Faculty Senate from 1966 until 1995, including minutes, correspondence, constitutions and by-laws, and reports from the Senate president, committees, subcommittees, university commissions, and the Student Government Association. The Faculty Senate was founded in 1969 in order to "articulate faculty views on campus policies and procedures."
