William C. Wampler, Sr. (1926-2012) was a U.S. Congressman from Virginia's 9th District in the 1950s through 1980s. The Records of War Memorial Chapel contain architectural records, posters, photographs, and prints pertaining to Virginia Tech’s War Memorial Chapel - including the Memorial Court, pylons, and cenotaph - and its construction in the 1950s and early 1960s. There are also a few pamphlets detailing the dedication and commemoration of the chapel, as well as records from the chapel after it was opened.

Abstract

The Warm Springs, Virginia, Ledgers collection includes 26 ledgers divided that account for the business of John E. Criser, J. S. Kelley, Blakey and Hamilton Co., and Yancey and Faulkner, as well as others in and around the town of Warm Springs. Ledgers date from 1884-1942, but the majority are from 1900-1920. The various companies appear to have done assorted business with each other as they appear sporadically in each other's ledgers.

Abstract

This collection contains an 1864 diary, transcript, and photocopied Muster Rolls and a card number list pertaining to Marcus B. Warner, of New York's 184th Volunteer Infantry, Company K, during the American Civil War. The diary details his civilian life as a harness maker and the first portion of his career as a Union soldier stationed in City Point and Petersburg, Virginia.
