Allen C. Clark Correspondence

Abstract

The collection includes two letters written to Allen C. Clark (1858-1943), president of the Historical Society of Washington, D. C. One letter, dated October 1920, is from C. S. Lashhorn detailing contact information for his family as requested by Clark. The other letter in the collection, dated February 1924, is from William Tyler Page, a clerk of the House of Representatives, and includes information on women who were granted pensions.

Abstract

This collection includes business and personal papers of W. Graham Claytor, a 1906 graduate of Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College (later Virginia Polytechnic Institute) and an executive overseeing the operations of a number of American Gas and Electric Company subsidiaries during the 20th century. It includes correspondence, reports, and printed materials relating to personal financial matters, business operations, Virginia Polytechnic Institute, and ham radio.

Clendening Family Letters

Abstract

Five letters relating to Abram Clendening, a private in the 5th Independent Company, Ohio Sharpshooters during the American Civil War, including a letter from Clendening, explaining his reasons for enlisting; and letters from comrades and officials regarding his death, the disposition of his personal effects and money, and the location of his grave. Also includes a letter from Boyd Clendening, serving on guard duty in Company K, 128th Ohio Infantry at Johnson's Island, Ohio.
