Landon Duncan Letters
The collection consists of six letters, mostly written by Landon Duncan. Two of the letters (1812, 1814) were written by Duncan to his uncle Alamander Duncan in Stokes County, North Carolina. Three of the letters (1837, n.d.) were written by Duncan to his cousin Hiram Duncan of the same county. One letter (1836) was written by Jane H. Threves in Gallatin, Tennessee, to her cousin Hiram Duncan.

John Early Confederate Army Receipt for the Work of Fletcher, an Enslaved Person
This collection contains a partially printed receipt for the labor of an enslaved person delivered to Chief Engineer Lt. Col. William H. Stevens in charge of Confederate fortifications outside of Richmond, Virginia, on November 11, 1862. The receipt notes that Stevens received one enslaved person by the name of Fletcher from John Early.
Jubal A. Early Letter
The collection consists of a letter written by Jubal A. Early to General William H. Payne of Warrenton, Virginia, about the appointment of General Lunsford Lindsay Lomax to the Presidency of Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College (now Virginia Tech) in Blacksburg.
