Series are based on format and arrangement, and individuals may be identified in one or more series.

V.P.I. Alumni Association World War II Alumni Cards

Abstract

These cards include information the Alumni Association kept on students from Virginia Tech who served in World War II. The cards list personal information about the soldiers organized by class year, from 1892 through 1949. The collection also includes liberated, wounded, and citation records.

VPI Chemical Engineering Class Project Reports

Abstract

This collection contains four group project reports for experiments completed between August and September 1954. The projects were completed for Chemical Engineering 401, a class at Virginia Polytechnic Institute (VPI). R. H. Crewdson acted as the foreman of the group, which also included R. S. Luttrell and N. N. Bakhshi.

A collection of oral history interviews with Virginia Tech's alumni, faculty, and staff, focusing on the Hokie community and alumni involvement. Orginally initiated in 2015 and managed by faculty and staff across the university, the core of the project was student involvement, Hokies interviewing Hokies, to document past experiences that created enduring connections between alumni and university.

William C. Wampler Congressional Papers

Abstract

William C. Wampler, Sr. (1926-2012) was a U.S. Congressman from Virginia's 9th District in the 1950s through 1980s. His papers primarily document his tenure in the House of Representatives during the 1970s and 1980s, including correspondence with constituents, committees, and government departments, legislative files, public relations and campaign materials, and photographs.

Joseph F. Ware Collection

Abstract

The collection contains 102 letters from Joseph F. Ware to his wife, Susie, in Blacksburg, Virginia, while he was serving overseas during and after World War I. The other significant portion of this collection contains nearly 200 photographs.

Robert Barnes Ware Collection

Abstract

The Robert Barnes Ware Collection includes a postcard from Virginia Polytechnic Institute alumnus Ware (1914-1944) to his future wife Martha Wood, Jan. 3, 1935, about life at V.P.I., a pamphlet for Memorial Service at V.P.I., May 12, 1946, and a program for Memorial Service, May 12, 1946. During World War II, Ware served as a Battalion Surgeon for the U.S. Army and died during the D-Day landings at Normandy.
