This collection contains a soldier's benefit receipt paid to Mrs. Margaret Leslie of Wythe County, Virginia, on May 11, 1863, for supplies furnished to James Leslie, a soldier in the 45th Virginia Regiment of the Confederate Army during the American Civil War.
Letters to Eliza Doty
The Letters to Eliza Doty were written by her unnamed sister, probably Sarah Poindexter, to Eliza in New Providence, New Jersey, on April 28, 1868, from Richmond, Virginia, and April 1, 1869, from Culpeper, Virginia. The letters contain information on the declining economic conditions in Richmond, and the sister's negative feelings about reconstruction conditions in Virginia.

Elsa Leviseur Architectural Collection
Elsa Leviseur was born in 1932 and practiced architecture and landscape architecture in South Africa, England, and California. Her projects include designs for the Hollywood Bowl and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association in California. Papers consist of files, photographs, specifications, and architectural drawings of designs done mostly in the 1980s.
