Abstract Created in 1865, this CDV depicts John Wilkes Booth being shot on April 26, 1865, and is published by Hacker, Rhode Island, 1865. The drawing shows David Herold being captured outside the barn. On the verso is advertising for "Bicknell's Syrup", a cholera remedy, which contains description of a "purely vegetable" remedy for cholera prepared by Edward Sutton, Providence, Rhode Island, Demas Barnes & Co., as well as a testimony from wholesale dealer Benjamin Hall. The Thomas Booth Correspondence contains one eight page letter datelined Yorktown 9 June 1861. The letter contains brief descriptions of cavalry scouting activites, camp life, and the citizens on the homefront during the American Civil War.

S. V. Bosserman Letter

Abstract

S. V. Bosserman was a cvilian livng in Virginia during the American Civil War. This letter was written by Bosserman and sent to a Miss A. H. Bosserman. Bosserman asks if Miss Bosserman had heard that General "Stonewall" Jackson had been killed, and then goes on from there to write about what was going on in the area where Bosserman was living.
