The collection contains items, which belonged to or were collected by Harold C. Cox during his time as a student at Virginia Agriculture and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute from 1922-1926, and his continued experiences with the university as alumnus, primarily from the 1970s and 1980s.
Isaac Cox Letter,
The collection includes a letter from Isaac Cox, 29th Regiment, Virginia Infantry, dated June 29, 1862. A private, and later corporal, Cox writes to his wife about recent regiment activities and travels. The letter was written on paper decorated with cut out designs.
Elias Crabill Account Statement
The collection contains a bill issued to Elias Crabill by Zea & Pirkey, a Strasburg, Virginia mercantile business, for purchases of food staples, fabrics, and clothing accessories made by Crabill's sister.
