John T. Parsons Papers
John T. Parsons (1913-2007) was a manufacturer and inventor of numerical control, which is the application of computer technology to manufacturing processes. The John T. Papers include correspondence, memoranda, financial records, engineering drawings and specifications, files about civic affairs in Traverse City, Michigan, reading files and other materials.
Passenger Pigeon Correspondence

William Hewitt Phillips Papers
The collection includes the papers of William Hewitt Phillips, NACA and NASA Langley Research Center aerospace engineer (and chief of Flight Dynamics and Control Division from 1970 to 1979), including lecture notes, reports and memoranda tracing the development of Phillips' theories while at Langley, spanning from his work on World War II-era aircraft to the early U.S. space program and beyond, as well as his interest in model aircraft.
Phycological Society of America Records
The Phycological Society of America was established in 1946 by and for phycologists, or those who study algae. The records consist of presidents' files and correspondence, financial ledgers, membership lists, conference programs, meeting minutes, videotapes, and a complete run (1965-1990) of the Journal of Phycology. The collection includes notebooks (1874-1883) with sketches of algae by botanist Francis Wolle (1817-1893).
Dan H. Pletta Papers
The Dan H. Pletta Papers includes treatises, transcripts of talks and correspondence dealing with all aspects of the field of engineering, but especially with the role of education in producing a professional engineer, qualifications for practice, the public purpose of engineering, ethics, and whistleblowing. Pletta (1903-1996) was professor of Engineering Science and Mechanics at Virginia Tech (1932-1972) and department head from 1958-1970.
Edward C. Polhamus Papers
Edward C. Polhamus (1923-2001) was an aeronautical engineer active in aerodynamics research related to the development of high-speed aircraft. The collection include reprints of articles and reports by Polhamus, correspondence, notebooks, photographs relating to his patents, and materials relating to his Wright Brothers lectureship.
