Howard S. Avery Papers
Aviation Brochures and Pamphlets Collection,
This collection is a collection of printed materials relating to the first half-century of aviation, consisting mostly of promotional materials from various manufacturers. Also contains a few periodicals (including an issue of Contact, published by the Women's National Aeronautical Association), and a menu from a dinner honoring Amelia Earhart.
James J. Avitabile Papers
This collection contains materials related to the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo space exploration programs of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Containing mostly technical data on spacecraft systems design and operation, the collection provides a detailed look at NASA systems engineering during the early to mid 1960s.
William Roane Aylett Letters
The collection contains seven letters written to William Roane Aylett between 1852 and 1887, as well as five undated letters and four envelopes. The collection includes letters from family and friends, as well as business correspondence.
Ayre Family Collection
This collection contains college memorabilia of father and son Henry D. and Clayton E. Ayre, both of whom attended Virginia Agricultural & Mechanical College (now Virginia Tech) during the late 19th century. It includes cadet caps, lecture notes, a certificate, and photograph.
Willis A. Babcock Diary
The collection consists of a Babcock's diary from 1864. Entries detail camp life throughout parts of Virginia, the siege at Petersburg, and his experiences with guard, orderly, and police duties. Babcock served with the 10th Regiment, New York Heavy Artillery.
Constantine C. Badger Letter
This collection contains a letter written by physician Con. [Constantine] C. Badger at Nashua, [New Hampshire], to his mother regarding his intention to enlist in the 6th New Hampshire Infantry as a nurse, apparently in hopes of later obtaining a position as a steward or surgeon, during the American Civil War.

Adolph Samuel Bair Photographs
The Adolph Samuel Bair Photographs were taken on the campus of the Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute (VPI) during the 1920s. The photographs depict Bair, the campus, and the VPI Corps of Cadets. Bair (1902-1988) graduated from VPI in 1924.
Joseph J. Baker Correspondence,
Joseph J. Baker's letters discuss the October 1863 Battle at Chickamauga and the 1864 battles at Marietta, Georgia, part of the Atlanta Campaign, including estimates of wounded, killed, and captured soldiers, food resources, and sentiments sent to his family.
