Southwest Virginia Photograph Album
This collection contains over one hundred photographs from a family that lived in southwest Virginia during the period of 1913 through 1917. Several pictures depict Virginia Tech (VPI) during this period. Other images show the family's travels throughout the American South.
Arthur M. Squires Papers
The Arthur M. Squires Papers, 1888-1987 (bulk 1940-1987), consist of extensive correspondence, unpublished research reports, lectures, trip reports, reprints, trip diaries (1968-1982), photographs (1979) from his trip to China, daily work books (1959-1981), and subject files spanning entire career. This collection is unprocessed.
Stereoview Collection
The collection includes stereoviews, mostly of Civil War-era or Civil War-related images. Items in the collection are individually described in the contents list of the finding aid.
Please note: Stereoviews can be viewed without equipment, but Special Collections does have a stereoscope available upon request.
Welford D. Taylor Collection on Sherwood Anderson
This collection contains several series of materials: correspondence to and from Sherwood Anderson, correspondence and research files about Sherwood Anderson, and a small group of photographs, audio, video, and graphic art materials. Materials generated by Anderson date from 1918-1940. Other materials date from about 1929-2006.
Harry Downing Temple, Jr., Papers
The Harry Downing Temple, Jr., Papers contains materials related to Temple's personal life, interest in heraldry and insignia, and his research and publications on the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets. Materials date from about 1872 to 2004.
U. S. Army Air Corps Photographs
The collection includes seven photographs showing U. S. Army Air Corps bombers and group bombing exercises. The photographs were taken during inspection and training exercises based out of Langely Field, near Hampton, Virginia, during March and April 1928.
