Elizabeth Cooper English is a professor of architecture. The collection includes a copy of English's dissertation, Arkhitektura I Mnimosti: The Origins of Soviet Avant-Garde Rationalist Architecture in the Russian Mystical-Philosophical and Mathematical Intellectual Tradition and a dossier that includes her curriculum vitae.

Abstract Born in Dresden in 1943, Kerstin Dörhöfer (also Dorhofer) received her architecture degree in 1969 from the Technical University of Berlin, where she earned her doctoral degree. In 1979 Dörhöfer formed an organization for women's studies at the Free University of Berlin. Since 1986, Dörhöfer has taught at the University of Arts in Berlin. Scope and Contents

Thirteen letters with their envelopes from VAMC student William Townes to family members L. W. Wimbish and Mrs. L. W. Wimbish in Boydton, Mecklenburg County, Virginia over the period March 15, 1875 to November 2, 1875. Letters concern his expenses and need for funds and his wish for news of home. Also mentioned are boarding in town, opinions of Blacksburg, a masque ball, constant drilling, fellow cadets, and farm matters.

Abstract

This collection contains four group project reports for experiments completed between August and September 1954. The projects were completed for Chemical Engineering 401, a class at Virginia Polytechnic Institute (VPI). R. H. Crewdson acted as the foreman of the group, which also included R. S. Luttrell and N. N. Bakhshi.

Abstract

This collection includes correspondence received by Edgar R. Knapp while he was a steward at the U.S. military hospital in Annapolis, Maryland. Sixteen letters from his brother at home in Michigan, one from his sister, and eighteen from hospital patients or their parents.
