Krasimira Choneva Architectural Collection

Abstract

The Krasimira Choneva Architectural Collection includes conceptual and working drawings as well as supporting documents for six projects. The projects range in date from 1958-1994 and were all designed and completed in Bulgaria by Krasimina Choneva. The collection also includes one biographical sketch written by Choneva herself as well as an additional biography written by Milka Bliznakov in 2007.

The Marcia Feuerstein Architectural Collection contains information about architecture school projects and teaching information from classes led at University of Pennsylvania and Temple University. Notes, sketches, correspondence, and photographs from professional design and renovation projects as well as competition entries are included. Also included are conference and lecture materials, copies of papers and publications, and photos of artwork.

E. Maria Roth Architectural Collection

Abstract

The E. Maria Roth Architectural Collection contains the personal papers, professional papers, and project files of a landscape architect working largely in New Jersey, New York, and Virginia. School work from Cooper Union and Rutgers University is included, along with a school notebook from 1940 made during the Hitler era in Germany. Projects largely conform to the following categories: schools, residences/neighborhoods, public and recreation areas, and furniture/structural designs.

James E. Rearden Civil War Collection

The ollection is mainly composed of letters written by James E. Rearden to his wife and his mother in the years 1861 and 1862. James Rearden was a Confederate soldier for the Army of the Potomac, 7th South Carolina Volunteer Infantry, during the American Civil War.

Mary Brown Channel Architectural Collection

Abstract After graduating from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in 1929, Mary Ramsay Brown Channel earned her degree in architecture at Cornell University in 1933. She returned to her hometown of Portsmouth, Virginia, and worked at a firm for two years before opening her own office as the first registered woman architect in Virginia. She became known for her residential and church designs. Her collection includes sketches and drawings for about 160 mostly residential projects in the Portsmouth area....
